ESCAPEDIA [əˈskāpēdēə] (from escape and the suffix -pedia)
Encyclopedia of escape games... in Canada.

escapedia.ca allows seeing available time slots of multiple escape games in one place. The goal is to be independent and have all escape games in Canada.

On the site, you can currently see all of Canada's escape games on the map and in the list. If you see that some are missing, contact-us!

You cannot currently see the time slots of all of Canada's escape games but we are working on adding more! If you cannot see the schedule of your favorite place, talk about us and ask them to contact us!

escapedia.ca was developped completely by one programmer, Guillaume Benny, who is, obviously, an escape game enthusiast. He is also helped by other enthusiasts, Patrick Pilon and Thierry Lacombe, to update places and rooms.

Since this is not our work, we build this site in our free time so it never goes as fast as we want!

We have a lot of ideas of things to add to make it the reference for escape games so stop by from time to time!

Are the listed available time slots up to date?

The information is realtime... well, almost. To not overload the servers, there might be a delay of a few seconds but beside that, the information should match exactly the offical site.

Why can't I book on this site?

To do that, we would need to build a complete booking system and that would be very complex. The booking is owned by the escape game place that has the most up to date data.

I must search again for the date and the time to book!

Booking systems are not created to allow to redirect you to a specific page with the selected senario, date and time slot. So, you must search again to book.

What is the number in brackets after the room rating?

It's the number of users that contributes to this rating. So a 4.5 (12) indicates that the rating is 4.5 out of 5 and that 12 users voted. The higher this number is, the better the rating represents the room.

I rated a room in my account but the room doesn't have a rating!

A minimum number of users must rate a room before it is calculated and displayed to all.

I would like to add my escape game!

Adding you on the map and in the list is very simple!

Note that it can be complex to add your schedule depending on how we must retreive the time slots from your web site. If you use Resova or Bookeo, it should be simple. We always add booking systems so yours might already be done.

When you contact us, try to tell us which system you are using.

I don't want my schedules on your site!

We would be sad to see you go! We offer this service freely (and this has a cost for us) and this is publicity for you.

We always send an email when adding time slots from a place to the site to notify you. If you do not want the schedules to be available, we will respect your choice.

If you do not want it to be possible to see the schedules on the site, you can contact us.

I do not want my escape games to be on your site!

We can remove access to time slots if you do not want it to be possible to see schedules on the site. (See previous point)

But, we do list all escape games in Canada and removing an escape game would be against our mission!

I'm opening a new room, how to add it?

You should contact us. Ideally, contact us before the official opening and we can synchronize the addition with your opening.

How are room ratings calculated?

The scores are calculated from the information entered on the site by the users who created an account and who did the room. We take into account general appreciation, immersion and puzzles but also other factors to avoid abuse and favoritism. These factors are kept secret.
